If you have an existing router on the network, you can connect your Velop node using an ethernet cable and set the node in DHCP or Bridge Mode. You can also add secondary nodes that repeat the signal of the first or primary node.
Use Linksys Velop with existing router Bridge mode allows you to add your Linksys Velop Intelligent Mesh WiFi System to an existing Wi-Fi. For example, if you have an existing router or modem router (gateway) and you want to continue using it as your router, you can add a Velop system to increase its Wi-Fi coverage.
Set up a wired Velop system
1.Set up your primary node using the Linksys app. To learn how to set up a primary node using an Android™ device, click here. To set up using an iOS device, click here. 2.Add a secondary node by wireless setup using the Linksys app. To learn how, click here. 3.Once the setup is complete, move the secondary node to its new location then connect it to a power outlet. 4.Connect the secondary node to the primary node with an ethernet cable. The nodes will automatically switch to a wired connection.
NOTE: Use CAT5e or higher rated cables.
5.If you have other nodes to add, repeat Steps 2-3. Once a node is set up in its intended location, connect it with an ethernet cable to the upstream node.
