SBCGlobal refers to the internet service offered by AT&T. Southern Bell Corporation (SBC) came into being as a holding company for Southern Bell Telephone following the disintegration of AT&T into a number of smaller bells in 1984.SBCglobal was used to refer to the communications department of SBC.
